Customshop is a modern Roman trattoria with a neighborhood feel, located in the heart of Charlotte, NC. Our menu offers an eclectic mix of traditional and innovative American dishes, inspired by Italian, French, and Spanish cuisine.
The Food
Starting with the highest quality raw ingredients, Customshop’s handcrafted dishes are meticulously prepared. Owner and Executive Chef Trey Wilson utilizes the sous vide method to slow cook proteins and vegetables, enhancing their natural flavors and textures.
Customshop is committed to supporting local, organic farm ventures by bringing our guests the freshest, sustainable foods in the area. Weekly menu changes are tailored around the seasonal availability of produce, with sea options created around the weekly “catch” of our local fisherman, Rock Stone. All pastas are made in-house and include unique options such as squid ink spaghetti and cheese pumpkin gnocchi.
The Wine
Using his knowledge and expertise, Wine Director, J.J. Levine has selectively crafted a wine list composed the finest wines from Italy, France, Spain, California, Chile, Australia, and South Africa. Wines are available by the bottle, or the cortino (equal to a glass and a half), conveniently portioned to pair with each course. Guests are welcome to sample the starter menu, eat a full course meal, or simply enjoy a glass of wine from our eclectic wine list at the bar.
The Design
With the help of renowned restaurant designer Brent Baronofsky, Customshop’s décor cleverly combines old and new. Contemporary dark wooden tables and wrought iron fixtures contrast with walls of exposed brick from the building’s 110 year old original structure.
A highlight of the restaurant’s design includes the antique fly-wheel slicer at the charcuterie bar, where our unique list of crudo and starters are crafted. Illuminated by the 85+ candles that line the tables and walls, Customshop’s warm atmosphere invites guests can enjoy a comfortable, well-crafted meal.
